Past simple(AFFIRMATIVE):
Idea EXAMPLES:
I talked to Judy.
I knocked over a glass of Coke.
It's ruined her trousers !
She danced with Nick.

study RULES:
Like a Star @ heaven We use the Past simple to talk about finished actions in the past.
Like a Star @ heaven We make the Past simple of regular verbs by adding +ed to the base form of the verb.
Like a Star @ heaven The affirmative form of the Past simple is the same for all people.

Arrow Look at the spelling rules :

Talk/Listen=add +ed = I talked to Sheela./I listened to the music.

Dance/Smile=add +d = She danced with Nick./I smiled at her.

Carry/Study=remove -y, add +ied=I carried the bag to school./I studied last night.

Stop/Travel=double the final consonant, add +ed =The party stopped at midnight./We traveled to Greece last year.

Past simple(NEGATIVE):
Idea EXAMPLES:

I didn't like the party very much.
She didn't shout at me.
They didn't talk to me again.

study RULES:

Like a Star @ heaven We make the negative forme of the Past simple with subject+did not+base form of the verb/No,+subject+base didn't .
Like a Star @ heaven The negative form of the Past simple is the same for all peaple.

Past simple (QUESTIONS and SHORT ANSWERS).

Did she shout at you? / No, she didn't.
Did you dance with Sheela? / No,I didn't.
Did they play good music? / Yes, they did.

Like a Star @ heaven To make a question in the Past simple, we use did+subject+base form of the verb.
Like a Star @ heaven For positive short answers,we use : Yes,I/You/He/She/It/We/They did .
For negative short answers, we use : No,I/You/He/She/It/We/They didn't .

Asking questions 1

The basic rule for asking questions in English is straightforward: Invert the order of the subject and the first auxiliary verb.

It is snowing. = Is it snowing?
He can speak German. = Can he speak German?
They have lived here a long time. = Have they lived here a long time?
She will arrive at ten o'clock. = Will she arrive at ten o'clock?
He was driving fast. = Was he driving fast?
You have been smoking. = Have you been smoking?

If there is no auxiliary, use part of the verb 'to do'.

You speak fluent French. = Do you speak fluent French?(speak-simple present;Do-simple present)
She lives in Brussels. = Does she live in Brussels?(3rd person singular)
They lived in Manchester. = Did they live in Manchester?(simple past)
He had an accident. = Did he have an accident?

Most questions with question words are made in the same way:

How often does she use it?
Why don't you come?
Where do you work?
How many did you buy?
What time did you go?
Which one do you like?
Whose car were you driving?
